Goshen City pumps K1.2bn into Dedza Dynamos

Done deal. Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s Goshen City on Tuesday sealed a K1.2 billion sponsorship deal with TNM Super League side Dedza Dynamos FC.

The deal follows a pledge the Enlightened Christian Gathering founder made last month to bankroll the side after parting ways with its initial sponsor PremierBet.

The Enlightened Christian Gathering-The Jesus Nation head has agreed a two-year deal with  the club, translating to K600 million per season sponsorship.

In a ceremony monitored on the club’s Facebook page, Bushiri, who also sponsors the women’s football championship, said: “Our vision is broad.  We want the team to go beyond local boundaries.”

Following the deal, the club will now be called Goshen City Dedza Dynamos FC.

When he unveiled his plans to sponsor the club, the prophet said they wanted to turn the club into one of the best on the continent.

He said the team has good talent, but lacked was support.

The club’s chief operations officer Guston Kamkosi Banda thanked Bushiri nfor the timely bail out.

He said: “We thank Major 1, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri for opening the gates of Goshen City for the people of Dedza. Man of God, we are deeply moved by your generosity,” he said.

“With this partnership, we are poised to touch greater heights.”

The club sits 12th in the 16-team top-flight with 21 points from 19 games.
